Earthquake Safety Instructions

For the safety and comfort of all our guests

Dear Guests, Rhodes is a beautiful island located in a seismically active area. Earthquakes are rare and usually minor, but your safety is our highest priority. Please take a moment to read the following instructions, just in case.

If You Are Indoors During an Earthquake

  1. Stay inside - do not run outside during the shaking.
  2. Drop, Cover, and Hold On:
    • Drop to the ground.
    • Take cover under a sturdy table, desk, or against an interior wall.
    • Hold on until the shaking stops.
  3. If no shelter is nearby, stand against an interior wall away from windows, or in a strong doorway.
  4. Stay away from windows, mirrors, glass, and heavy furniture that could fall.
  5. Do not use elevators.
  6. Remain calm and wait for the shaking to stop.

If You Are Outdoors

  1. Move away from buildings, trees, power lines, and anything that could fall.
  2. Find an open area and stay there until the shaking stops.

After the Earthquake

  1. Expect aftershocks - these may occur minutes or hours later.
  2. Follow instructions from hotel staff and emergency services.
  3. Watch for an SMS alert from 112 (Greek Civil Protection):
    • This will provide official instructions based on your location.
    • Messages are sent in multiple languages, including English.
