Earthquake Safety Instructions
For the safety and comfort of all our guests
Dear Guests, Rhodes is a beautiful island located in a seismically active area. Earthquakes are rare and usually minor, but your safety is our highest priority. Please take a moment to read the following instructions, just in case.
If You Are Indoors During an Earthquake
- Stay inside - do not run outside during the shaking.
- Drop, Cover, and Hold On:
- Drop to the ground.
- Take cover under a sturdy table, desk, or against an interior wall.
- Hold on until the shaking stops.
- If no shelter is nearby, stand against an interior wall away from windows, or in a strong doorway.
- Stay away from windows, mirrors, glass, and heavy furniture that could fall.
- Do not use elevators.
- Remain calm and wait for the shaking to stop.
If You Are Outdoors
- Move away from buildings, trees, power lines, and anything that could fall.
- Find an open area and stay there until the shaking stops.
After the Earthquake
- Expect aftershocks - these may occur minutes or hours later.
- Follow instructions from hotel staff and emergency services.
- Watch for an SMS alert from 112 (Greek Civil Protection):
- This will provide official instructions based on your location.
- Messages are sent in multiple languages, including English.
